The word attunement gets thrown around a lot, but I think it has to do with the idea of being attuned to the vibration of the body. I think that we are attuned to our environment and the vibrations that it generates. It’s a beautiful thing to have a clear view of the world and to see the world around us in a different way and in a way that is more accurate.
It is, but we are also attuned to our surroundings and the vibrations within them. We are attuned to our bodies and the vibrations they generate. In addition to our bodies being a reflection of the external environment and the vibrations we create, we are also attuned to the sound our bodies make. If I have a headache, I will feel the vibration of my head and body, even though it is a mere 100 miles away.
Our bodies are the sum of our thoughts and actions, but we are also attuned to the sounds and vibrations they make. There are times when we may feel a headache coming on, but it may be the sound of my cell phone or my vibrating computer. Or maybe it’s the sound of my husband’s voice. I can hear it, even if I’m in the middle of a conversation.
Sometimes, we can’t hear them, but other times they can be quite obvious. Our brains are not hardwired to hear or feel certain sounds. We have a lot of noise in our heads. Just like in the case of any other sound, it is only when we become accustomed to it that it becomes part of our day-to-day routine.
One of the things that a lot of companies have in that category is your phone. For example if you have, you know, a bad case of carpal tunnel, you may have heard of the term POTS. The acronym stands for Primary Osteoarthritis and Secondary Osteoporosis. POTS is a pretty common problem, so its not really that surprising that you should be hearing the sound of your phone in your ears.
But it’s not just the sound of your phone you can hear. The sound is coming from the phone in your ear. If you get used to a particular sound, you can use it to trigger a physical reaction (like clenching your teeth or pulling your finger down your throat). Sounds are a great way to have something in our day-to-day lives that is familiar and yet totally different than what we’re used to.

Yes. When we are listening to sound we are also simultaneously listening to our own body, and it triggers a physical reaction in our body, which is why we call them “attune”.
It sounds like there is a bit of a stigma attached to attune, but I think it’s fairly accurate. The term, which was coined by a French scientist named Robert Aron, refers to an altered state when a person, for example, can suddenly hear and recognize sounds that they never heard before – in other words, an attune. It’s only the second time I’ve heard the word used in the context of health, but it does make sense.
