This is a fact of life that makes me want to scream out so badly it hurts, but I can’t. The smell of my dog, not my child, is what my body is responding to. My toddler has no idea but is only in the house for a short period of time. The dog doesn’t care if it is the only one in the house or not.
I can only imagine the stench from my dog’s body would be horrendous. I would be lying if I said I didnt know how bad it would be. But it is not me getting it on for the sake of the child. It is my body smelling it for the sake of my child, and I would be a fool to deny that the smell was not good.
You are correct. It is not your child you are smelling, or even your dog. It is your body. Your body is the same as everyone else’s. The smells that you do not like are there for a reason, and they are not there for your children. The only person you feel a “need” to “smell bad” is yourself.
What you could do is put your dog in a hot bath. That would remove the bad smell, but in the end you are still getting the bad smell. Your body is still getting the bad smell, but the smell on your body is not the same as the smell on your dog.
You can’t just let that little dog go into a hot bath and expect everything to be better. You need the dog to get out of the bath, then you need the dog to go back to the bath.
The same thing goes for dogs. They need to get clean, and they need to smell clean. It’s that simple. For dogs, the bathing process helps them get clean. But for children, it just makes them less willing to go get a bath with a dirty dog.
I once had a dog that got into a bath that didn’t clean itself. All I had to do was let the dog get out of the bath and the dog would go back to the bath. Then I would let the dog get back into the bath and the dog would clean it again. It would get dirty again. It was a lot more work, but the dog was a lot less likely to go to the bathroom at a time when I was getting ready for bed.
And, also, getting a dog to clean your own dog is a lot more work.
I just heard someone on a podcast say that, after the dog finishes a bath, the dog will smell bad even if you just take a bath with it.
I think it’s something I’ve heard a lot from people in the dog-grooming industry. Because of how the dog is made, they can’t use the same products on the dog as for a human. So they have to get the dog’s body and cleaning products, and the dog itself, from the manufacturer, and use a lot of different cleaning products because the dog is a different type.
