The Health Equity Alliance (HEA) is the largest provider of health care and social services in Central California. Our mission is to improve the health of all Californians by providing a wide array of health-related services. We do this through a combination of services and programs that help reduce the cost of health care for most Californians, including a variety of community-based programs.

In particular, the department says the HEA must be set up as a 501c3 charity to be able to operate on a volunteer basis. The new regulations prohibit the HEA from using volunteers to actually deliver its services.

And as a participant in this, you get to do things together with people that you may not have gotten to do together in the past.
The idea of health equity is to end discrimination against people with health equity backgrounds. In general, health equity means that the people that are discriminated against are the ones who are most similar to you.
