I’m a fan of the concept of living in the moment, and so I decided to take a look at the newest “self-awareness” book by Dr. Lisa Seligman, “Health Linc.” I’m all about the self-awareness, and how we can improve it.
One thing that really stood out to me in this book is how the book is based on a lot of research into the psychology of self-awareness. The first section of the book is dedicated to the psychology of self-awareness and the concept of “consciousness-raising”. The book goes through the psychology of how people can improve their awareness, and how awareness can increase the quality of our lives.

Seligmans takes the time to explain not only how we can improve our awareness, but how it can be used as a tool for personal growth. It’s not that self-awareness is bad, but it’s just a little bit more complicated than that. Seligmans also talks about the fact that awareness doesn’t just mean consciousness, but it actually encompasses a lot of other things too.

Seligmans says that you can control your perception of your own appearance through awareness, and when he says this he really means it. We can choose to look at ourselves in a certain way and then be aware of that, and when we are aware of that, we can choose to change that way of looking.
Seligmans says that, “through awareness we can make changes in our appearance. It’s not just an aesthetic choice, but it’s a choice based on our values of how we perceive ourselves and how we want others to perceive us.” The key word being awareness. The more we are aware of our own body, the more we can choose to have a different body image.
Seligmans says that we are the only ones who can change. We can choose to be more healthy, or more thin, or more fit. In the end, it’s all about our choices.
