The mobile integrated health care (MIAH) is a health care delivery model which utilizes mobile phones as a patient portal. The MIAH model has been shown to be a cost-effective way of improving access to primary care, and has demonstrated significant improvements in quality of care and patient satisfaction.
Basically, the MIAH model is an improvement on the traditional paper/pen/tube model of care. In the paper/pen/tube model, patients visit the physician and pick up a paper chart from the physician. If the paper chart is a bad one, then they go back to visit a doctor or nurse. If the paper chart is a good one, then the doctor or nurse then manually fills it out, and send it to the patient.
The MIAH model is an easier model to implement. First off, physicians are only required to make a paper chart. The paper chart is for the patient to use before a visit with a physician, and it is in the patient’s best interest to make it a good one. That way, if the physician is not interested in seeing the patient, the patient can still go to their primary care provider.
One of the reasons why many of us were unhappy with the paper chart we were taught in medical school is that it was so difficult to use. The model is actually a better one since it has less of a paper trail and also has the benefit of being much easier to implement. The paper chart is great for one-time use but not so great for the long term. The paper chart is not something you can rely on forever, but it is something that you will use regularly in your career.
When you’re talking about electronic medical records, they’re not exactly paper. They are mostly micro-chips with sensors that track and report information to a central server. The paper chart is really just a list of numbers. It’s a way of recording information that can be checked at a later date.
A paper chart is great for one-time use, but if you use them a lot, you dont want to rely on them to do your data entry. Some people will forget and spend a bunch of money for a new computer because theyre so familiar with the paper chart.
For a long time, mobile health records were all about the paper chart. But it doesnt have to be that way. The iPhone is a pretty fantastic device for storing and viewing your medical data. So are Android phones. If a doctor/patient can get their medical records into a common format, everyone can be on the same page pretty easily. The mobile health data is a bit more complicated than just storing and being able to check a chart.
As a doctor I have to say: you will get some very strange looks from patients if you dont ask them if their health records are in the same format as their paper charts. This is because your chart is the first thing they see when they get to your office. And they will usually ask you for the paper charts, even though they dont need to.
One thing I love about the mobile health data is that the data is a little more detailed than the paper chart. For example, you can see all your blood pressure levels, cholesterol levels, and heart rate readings. You can also see all the glucose readings, body fat measurements, and blood sugar levels. They are all stored in the same format as the paper chart.
This is a great way for people to stay on top of their health if they’re not in the habit of going to the doctor once a week or having a blood test. It’s also good for physicians to know how their patients are doing so they can provide them with the best care possible.
