One of my favorite fitness challenges is to run a 5k. It takes a lot of effort and focus to achieve a certain goal, but it sure beats any other challenge. I’ve run a few long distance races since I joined the Running Club, but I have yet to take a 5k. I would love to, but I can’t. I have a very good record for the distance I’ve run, but I usually don’t even think about it.

I did start when I wanted to, but I think everyone should start when they want to. If you have to run when you feel like you are done, you will never get started.

I think many people can relate to this point. We often get in a rut and start out with less than we wanted and then give up and start again. This happens with many things, but it can be especially true of running. Running is one of those things that is so easy to become bored and it is the same for everyone. As you get older, you want more things to do to get you through the day, and that means you need to stretch out.
You can stretch out literally anything. If you have a car you can drive on a highway, if you have a house you can walk to, if you have a gym you can lift weights, and if you have a computer you can play games. But the truth is that you can always go back to the same thing and do it in a different way which is the best part about running. You never have to get bored.
The problem is that most of us are not very flexible. We can’t just sit back and relax and do nothing different. The problem is that we have to do something. And so if you get bored, you have to stretch. You have to stretch your muscles. You have to stretch your legs. You have to stretch your neck. You have to push yourself. You have to work harder. So the problem is that we need to get tired. We have to do more.
In fact, we are all chronically fatigued from time to time. Many of us are chronically fatigued from our jobs. And so many of us have a general lack of flexibility in our arms.
